ReadingPals Mission:
ReadingPals is a statewide early literacy initiative led by The Children’s Movement of Florida. We create meaningful experiences for volunteer mentors to support students from Pre-K to 3rd grade who may need extra help. Our model focuses on developing early literacy skills, building relationships and confidence, and reinforcing a love of reading.

Social Emotional Learning – What We Hope to Achieve
- Mentoring: To build a love of reading through impactful relationships between students and mentors.
- Early Literacy: To improve students’ understanding of the fundamental building blocks of early literacy.
- Social-Emotional Development: To help students build a strong socialemotional foundation through self-awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.
In Flagler County, volunteers are primarily members of the RSVP program (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) 55 and over, but the program is open to volunteers of all ages in our community.

Support Flagler County ReadingPals
Donations are used to provide books to the students that the program serves and/or materials for the volunteers to use during their mentoring sessions.
