CERT Basic Training
Summer Hybrid 2020
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during CERT exercises, members can assist their community or workplace following an emergency event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
The course is FREE and you will receive a CERT manual in class and CERT kit upon course completion. This free training includes an online lecture portion and is to be followed up by an in-person, hands-on, practical portion.
REQUIRED ZOOM WELCOME MEETING WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, JULY 6, 2020 AT 5:30 P.M. (Roll call will be taken).
ONLINE LECTURE PORTION OF YOUR TRAINING
♦ Estimated Time = 12 hours
♦ Access it on your mobile device or computer.
♦ Complete it at your pace and at your convenience.
♦ Course progress will be saved and can be resumed later.
♦ You will receive the link to the online portion of your training once you register.
♦ Certificate of online completion must be emailed to CERT@flaglervolunteer.org by July 15, 2020 to participate in the hands-on, practical portion of your training.
IN-PERSON, HANDS-ON, PRACTICAL PORTION OF YOUR TRAINING
♦ Estimated Time = 16 hrs
♦ Session One – Saturday, July 18, 2020, Session Two – Saturday, July 25, 2020 (8 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day)
♦ Location: Flagler County Emergency Operation’s Center – 1769 E Moody Blvd. Bldg. 3, Bunnell FL 32110
You must participate in the ZOOM Welcome Meeting, complete the Online Course and complete both Practical Sessions to recieve final certificate for Flagler County CERT program.
