Volunteer Training

Flagler Volunteer Services and our partners regularly offer training for volunteers to be better prepared to serve our community.

Disaster Volunteer Training Series

This training series educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for hazards in their area and trains them in disaster response skills. Many of the classes are currently on hold due to the Coronavirus. As classes become available they will be listed below:

Flagler County Call Center Training
Volunteers are needed to be trained to assist with our County’s Call Center.  The Call Center is activated during times of emergency.   The greatest need is during hurricane activations.  The Call Center is currently activated due to the Coronavirus and this gives us the unique opportunity to allow volunteers to be trained with on the job training.  We are looking for interested volunteers to be scheduled to train during a morning or afternoon shift at the Call Center while it is in action.  If you would like to be trained for this position please contact us at:  emergencyvolunteers@flaglervolunteer.org and we will schedule you for a training session.

SkyWarn Storm Spotter Training
This training is being offered at various dates/times virtually.
Volunteers will learn what to look for in a storm; to identify local severe weather hazards; how weather watches and warnings are issued; and how to report potentially dangerous weather conditions so that early warnings may be issued.  Please register by emailing EOC@FlaglerCounty.org
