Emergency Support Services

This program was formed to ensure that there would be trained volunteers prepared to help the community, before, during and after disasters that might affect Flagler County. Disaster preparedness, relief, and response are the primary focuses of this program. Various disaster related trainings are offered to volunteers throughout the year.

The following projects are conducted under the Emergency Support Services Program:

  • Volunteer Reception Center - helps to coordinate unaffiliated volunteers immediately following disasters.
  • S.A.F.E. - Shutter Assistance For Elderly - this program utilizes volunteers to assist elderly with putting up shutters before a hurricane hits to ensure their safety.
  • Information, training and support is also given to other emergency related groups such as the local CERT teams, Red Cross, and the Emergency Operations Center on an as needed basis.

Volunteers interested in assisting the community in times of disaster should contact Jean at (386) 597-2950 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
